When Was the First National Dessert Day?
It’s actually unknown when the first ever national dessert day was. Even though we’ve been enjoying desserts and calling them that (the word dessert was coined in the 1600s from the French “desservir,” which means “to clear the table,” as dessert is traditionally the final course of a meal) for centuries, we don’t know when the October 14 celebration was first established.
How Should You Celebrate National Dessert Day?
There is only one thing you need to do to celebrate National Dessert Day: eat a dessert. Ideally, the dessert would be a favorite dessert, but any dessert will do. It can be purchased from a store, ordered at a restaurant, baked at home yourself, given by a relative, or more. The important thing is to enjoy a dessert and indulge your sweet tooth.
