If you were looking for an excuse to indulge a little — it’s National Lobster Day (Sept. 25).
Check out the video above for some pointers from Zoli Davis of Christner’s Prime Steak and Lobster on preparing lobster tails. Here are a few tips that stood out to me:
Before purchasing, inspect the lobster tail. The “meat” should be white and translucent. Stay away from any tails with yellow or brown spots.
Don’t mess with the lobster tail beforehand. Just take the meat out. Davis showed us how.
When baking lobster tail…… the rule of thumb is 1 minute of cooking time per ounce.
