Early 1990s
A Vision for Classic Steakhouse Dining in Orlando
Russ and Carole Christner set out to bring an elevated, old-school steakhouse experience to Orlando. Their vision was built around warm hospitality, exceptional service, and a commitment to the finest steaks and seafood.
1993
Opening on Lee Road
Christner’s opened its doors on Lee Road in Orlando, quickly becoming known for USDA Prime steaks, cold-water lobster, tableside service, and a timeless dining atmosphere. From the beginning, the restaurant was family-owned and operated.
1990s
Becoming a Local Favorite
Throughout the 1990s, the restaurant earned a loyal following among Orlando locals, business leaders, visitors, and families celebrating special occasions. Its reputation grew through consistency, personal attention, and a classic approach to fine dining.
2000
Expanding the Restaurant
As demand grew, the Christner family expanded the restaurant into the neighboring building. The expansion created more space for guests, private dining, and special events while preserving the intimate steakhouse feel guests had come to love.
2005
Continuing Russ Christner’s Legacy
After Russ Christner’s passing, the family continued the restaurant with the same values he helped establish: gracious hospitality, attention to detail, and a commitment to making every guest feel personally cared for.
2013
Becoming Christner’s Prime Steak & Lobster
After 20 years of building its reputation in Orlando, the restaurant officially became Christner’s Prime Steak & Lobster. The new name placed the Christner family legacy front and center while preserving the same ownership, signature recipes, dedicated team, and classic steakhouse experience guests had loved since the beginning.
2023
30 Years of Legendary Dining
Christner’s marked its 30th anniversary with a celebration of family, community, and hospitality. For three decades, the restaurant has remained committed to the traditions that made it a staple in Central Florida.

A Family-Owned Orlando Tradition
Today, Christner’s Prime Steak & Lobster continues to carry forward the legacy started by Russ and Carole Christner. Still family-owned and operated, the restaurant remains one of Orlando’s most cherished destinations for fine dining, special occasions, private events, and timeless steakhouse hospitality.
