Rewinding the Christner’s Clock
Nov 21, 2016
Take a trip with us back to 1993 — Universal Orlando has opened its doors to one of the city’s most well-known attractions; a Jacksonville beauty brought Florida a Miss America crown; and two friends, Russ Christner and Dale Wamstad came together to open their first restaurant, now called Christner’s Prime Steak & Lobster, outside of Texas. The City Beautiful is starting to take shape.
Can you imagine a time when “checking-in” involved face-to-face interaction with a hostess? Not just a few clicks on a smartphone application. From the very beginning, we wanted to provide Orlando locals and visitors alike with the opportunity to partake in that old-world, country-club charm while enjoying the fine dining experience. We might be biased, but we adore walking in and seeing the enchanting backdrop of plush leather banquettes, mahogany bars and unique exposed brick walls.
Nothing makes us happier than how welcomed The City Beautiful has made us feel over the last few decades. The city’s undying support drives us to continue being the best steakhouse in Orlando!
