What’s So Special About the Tomahawk Ribeye?

A Tomahawk Ribeye is a bone-in, large-cut steak known for its impressive presentation and rich flavor. It is essentially a ribeye steak with at least 5-6 inches of rib bone still attached, resembling the shape of a tomahawk axe—hence the name.

A Cut Above the Rest

For those who haven’t yet experienced our Tomahawk Ribeye, here’s what makes it so special:

  • Impressive Size – We’re talking 36-48oz of perfectly aged, hand-cut beef. It’s a feast for the senses.
  • Expertly Prepared – Grilled to perfection with a beautiful char on the outside and tender, juicy perfection on the inside.
  • A Perfect Pairing – Best enjoyed with a bold red wine from our extensive collection and classic steakhouse sides like garlic mashed potatoes or creamed spinach.

What Cut of Meat Is a Tomahawk Ribeye?

The Tomahawk Ribeye comes from the rib section of the cow, specifically from the 6th to the 12th rib. This area is known for producing some of the most marbled, flavorful, and tender cuts of beef. The Tomahawk is essentially a bone-in ribeye with a long, frenched bone that is left long for dramatic presentation and is the source of the “Tomahawk” name.

The cut includes a significant portion of the rib bone, which adds not only to its striking visual appeal but also helps retain moisture while cooking, making it incredibly juicy and flavorful. The Tomahawk Ribeye is also often dry-aged, a process that intensifies the beef’s flavor and makes it even more tender.
