What Cheeses Are on the Hennings Cheese Board?

The Hennings Cheese Board offers a sampling of different cheeses to begin your dining experience. The cheeses are all from Wisconsin, which ensures the best-quality cheese. Wisconsin is the only state in the U.S. that requires cheesemakers to have a license. Additionally, Wisconsin is the only state that has a master cheesemaker program like those in Europe. This means that all of the cheese Christner’s offers are of the highest quality.

Colby Cheese

Colby cheese is a semi-hard cow’s milk-based cheese named after Colby, Wisconsin, which is the city in which it was first developed in 1885. Colby cheese is made in a similar manner to cheddar cheese, except that after the curd is cooked, the whey is partially drained, and then cold water is added, which decreases the temperature.

6-Year Aged Cheddar

Cheddar cheese originates in the English village of Cheddar, in Somerset. It’s a hard, off-white cheese that can have a sharp taste. Cheddar cheese is now manufactured all over the world. Our cheddar cheese has been aged for six years to perfection.

Peppercorn Cheese

Peppercorn cheese is a type of cheddar cheese that has been finely aged and that has been blended with cracked black peppercorns. Because of its aging process, peppercorn cheese has hints of Parmesan in addition to the flavor of the peppercorns mixed in.

Parmesan Cheese

Parmesan cheese, which is also known as Parmigiano-Reggiano, is originally from the Parma and Reggio Emilia regions of Italy. It’s a hard cheese that has a granular texture. This type of cheese also ages for twelve months and is made from cow’s milk.
